ABOUT DUNIA BARU

Handcrafted using only the best Ulin wood, Dunia Baru’s heritage is proudly displayed in all areas of the yacht from her perfectly balanced hull down to the joinery of her latches. To observe her up close is a truly pleasurable survey of expert craftsmanship and artistry by the renowned Konjo Boat Builders in South Sulawesi.

Dunia Baru was built for families. She boasts expansive decks and spacious interiors for the ultimate in relaxation and play. Areas where guests gather are purposefully designed to be expansive and relaxed. High sturdy rails and plenty of space allow children to move around on board in complete safety. The waterslide into the ocean adds an extra element of fun for children and adults alike, offering thrilling moments of excitement and adventure right from the heart of the yacht.

Observing Dunia Baru clipping her way through the Indonesian seas under her 500 square metres of claret-coloured sail is a stunning sight.
Dunia Baru stands as a testament to the passion and dedication of her original owner, Mark Robba, whose vision for exploration propelled the creation of this magnificent vessel. Robba’s connection to Indonesia runs deep and his dream of building a floating sanctuary was fueled by a desire to share the allure of Indonesia’s seas with the world. The name “Dunia Baru,” meaning “new world,” reflects Robba’s belief in the transformative power of exploration.

The construction of Dunia Baru was no ordinary feat. It took eight years of painstaking craftsmanship, with Robba’s unwavering commitment driving every phase of the process. From sourcing the finest ironwood in the dense jungles of Kalimantan to collaborating with master shipwrights of the Konjo tribe, every detail of Dunia Baru bears the imprint of Robba’s dedication to excellence.

The journey of Dunia Baru extends beyond the realm of luxury yachting. Robba’s ethos of responsible stewardship led to numerous philanthropic endeavors, from providing relief aid to earthquake-stricken villages to supporting medical missions in remote corners of Indonesia and collaborating with local scientists on a pioneering project studying black corals.

Today, Dunia Baru continues its legacy under the ownership of Jing-Yi Wee, a visionary entrepreneur whose admiration for the vessel’s heritage sparked a new chapter of exploration and innovation. Wee’s dedication to preserving Dunia Baru’s timeless elegance while infusing modern comforts reflects a commitment to honoring its rich legacy.

LIFE ON BOARD
Dunia Baru features ample communal and living spaces spread across its three decks. The main deck serves as the vibrant heart of the yacht, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces. The teppanyaki grill leads out from a family-style kitchen, and provides a social dining option where guests can the expert onboard chef prepare delicious meals. Al fresco and indoor dining areas both offer breathtaking ocean views with the open plan layout offering panoramic windows. On this deck guests can enjoy dining, lounge on comfortable benches, or unwinding on the sofa while watching entertainment on the large flat-screen TV.

The aft terrace provides breathtaking ocean views and is furnished with a spacious daybed, ideal for relaxation or indulging in onboard massages by qualified masseuses. In the evenings, LED lights illuminate both the aft and fore decks, transforming them into captivating cocktail lounges. The yacht is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a Sonos music system and broadband wireless internet, ensuring entertainment and connectivity throughout the voyage.

Life on board the Dunia Baru yacht offers a blend of luxury and adventure, highlighted by its diving facilities and unique waterslide.
