ABOUT LAMIMA

Those seeking new horizons will be delighted to discover the wonder of Lamima, the epitome of superyacht luxury from topsail to keel. This vessel has been custom built with the specific intent of providing the ultimate in comfort, elegance, and safety while maintaining the warm ambiance of traditional Indonesian hospitality.

Discover Lamima: A Journey of Luxury and Adventure
As one of the world’s largest wooden sailing yachts and the largest ever constructed in Indonesia, Lamima stands as a majestic testament to Indonesian craftsmanship and ingenuity.

The existence of this superyacht-sized phinisi is down to Dominique Gerardin, former merchant marine officer tean superyacht captain for 20 years. His vision was to combine ancient Phinisi elegance with modern specifications for the ultimate classic superyacht experience. Lamima’s 19-strong crew is made up of people from five islands and three religions, giving passengers an immediate sense of the amazing diversity of the world’s greatest island nation.

Designed in 2012 by esteemed yacht designer Marcelo Penna of Barcelona, Lamima offers a massive 400 sqm of the open deck on a total of 900 sqm of usable space. Marcelo has also given her an impressive sail wardrobe designed to catch every breeze of the archipelago, thus creating a first-class sailing vessel with all the opulence of a super-yacht.

The construction of Lamima was entrusted to the skillful traditional boat builders of Ara, Sulawesi, the Konjo community. The largest traditionally built vessel ever constructed in Indonesia, the hull alone took nine months to be constructed, the complete build three years. Following a consecration in a traditional Bugis ceremony , Lamima was floated. It took 50 people 45 days, moving just three metres a day.

LIFE ON BOARD
Lamima’s interior, warmly inviting with an understated contemporary Asian influence, has been specifically designed to accommodate 14 guests in absolute comfort.

Lamima’s saloon, a haven of tranquility and comfort, is situated midship on the main deck. This spacious area is furnished with a bar and lounge as well as a vast dining table designed to comfortably seat fourteen people.

Forward of the saloon, shaded by a fabric Bimini, a large area has been custom designed for al fresco dining and lounging. The seats and the dining table can convert to large sun pads to make full use of this shaded area. Whether under sail or at anchor under the stars, it serves as the center for communal life aboard Lamima, the place to come together and make plans for the next adventure ashore.

The stern section of this same deck has been designated as Lamima’s ‘relaxation quarter’. Here, in total privacy, the expert hands of our qualified Pijat masseuses will soothe your body after a day spent enjoying watersports or onboard activities. Guests can enjoy different spa treatments and massages throughout the day as one of the many services LAMIMA has to offer.

Should solitude be sought or the need arise for a private tête-à-tête, a small zone of comfort and intimacy has been designed for this purpose far forward on the main deck at the base of the bowsprit.

The upper deck extending forward of the pilot-house is furnished with Indonesian sun mattresses and dedicated to inactivity. Here guests will delight in the sheer pleasure of doing nothing other than turn the pages of a book, sleep, chat, or contemplate the joys of living the dream.

ACCOMMODATION:
Lamima offers guests unparalleled comfort and indulgence with its seven luxurious cabins. Each exquisitely appointed suite, including the palatial master cabin and a further six elegant cabins (4 double and two twin), offers a sanctuary of serenity and sophistication. Spacious lounge areas, elegant furnishings, and ensuite bathrooms evoke an ambiance of refined luxury.

Lighting is subtly integrated into the design and plays an important role in the ambiance while portholes provide natural light and an enticing view of the exotic world outside.

Internet service is available in every cabin as well as HD TV, iPod docking stations, and an extensive movie library for those guests who seek timeout to unwind in their private domain.

DINING
Enjoy delicious Asian and European cuisine from our gourmet chefs who take pride in sourcing the freshest, quality ingredients from top Indonesian suppliers, local markets and fishermen. A selection of soft drinks, cocktails, wines and after dinner liquers is available from the bar. Whether dining indoors or al fresco, Lamima’s dining areas provide the perfect setting to savor delectable cuisine while reveling in the beauty of the open sea.
