Alor Archipelago

The Alor archipelago is a hidden gem located in the eastern part of Indonesia in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (Lesser Sunda Islands) in the heart of the Coral Triangle. The archipelago is a group of islands located between Flores and Timor. Alor Island is the largest at the Eastern end. While the region is among the least developed in Indonesia, it offers stunning natural beauty including volcanic landscapes, rich cultural traditions and world-class diving.

Trek to the top of Mount Sirung, the island’s highest peak and an active volcano, and enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The island is also home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Indonesia, such as the Tuti Adagae and Takpala waterfalls.

For those seeking cultural immersion, visit traditional mountain villages of the Abui tribe, the largest ethnic group on the island of Alor. Participate in traditional ceremonies and learn about their traditional textiles, such as the famous Tenun Ikat Alor.
